A friend of mine asked me the other day (she doesn't have kids yet..) what I did all day. I used to do this periodically so I figured I'd do it again!
Here's to all the people who think stay at home Mommas sit around, watch TV, and eat Oreos all day long...
6:40 - My alarm goes off. Since I was up tossing and turning from 2:15-4:00 AM I figured I'd turn it off and go back to sleep!
6:55 - Caden wakes up with a poopy diaper! OH JOY! He gets a diaper change, his sippy and some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while Mommy wakes up.
7:05 - I start working on the last batch of things needing to be printed for K's new curriculum.
7:25 - Kinsley stumbles to the couch. LITERALLY! She wakes up like her Momma does ;-)
8:45 - We make a trip to Target. Kinsley pointed out the diamond shapes.. and that made Mommy very proud! For the observant people, yes she is wearing the same shirt she woke up in. Yes, it's the shirt she wore yesterday. Daddy bought it for her and it's her absolute favorite. Today, it was a battle I didn't want to take on!
This was a fun trip to Target. We needed to get stickers for K's sweet friend. They have a "sticker club" chain letter in the works and we needed to pick out stickers for this sweet girl! I really wanted this to be a smooth trip and a HAPPY start to the day so they got slushies! I'm sure they are loaded with high fructose corn syrup and artificial colors.. BLAH BLAH BLAH! It was a very special treat!
9:45 - Quick & fun Target trip was complete and we ran to pick up our printed things and to make copies of the Sticker Club letter to send out. The kids LOVED the lego table and did NOT want to leave!
10:20 - Our printing took a little while. It wasn't scheduled to be ready until 3PM but since we were out and about we checked on it.We waited around until it was finished and then headed home. K was skipping to the front door and busted pretty good and scraped her knee. It's been quite a while since she's had a "bleeder" so you better believe she was emotional about it.
11:15 - The crying finally commenced and it was lunch time!
12:00 - Caden's nap time :) Clean diaper, his special blankie and warm coconut milk.. He's set to go!
12:15 - Kinsley does Mommy's hair. I wanted a little break after our busy morning but this was about as "relaxing" as it got!
12:45 - We work on Kinsley's Sticker Club letters to send out! She was SO excited!!
1:15 - I worked on gathering up all of Kinsley's curriculum for the next 4 weeks. Lesson plans are ready, everything is organized by week, supply lists and notes are written... Let's GO!
1:55 - Caden wakes up and I get back to household chores. I really hate dishes...
The pictures end there. After this we swiftly got to packing to the kids up for a night at Mimi & Poppa's house. They were so excited!!! Jeremy and I grabbed dinner at Bonefish, walked around some shops, stopped off at Kroger (picked up some Talenti gelato, root beer and a Redbox DVD) and spent the rest of the evening in a QUIET house. It was strange not having the kids around but it was a much appreciated break!
We picked up the kiddos this morning and they had a blast! They did SO well and were worn out today.

How Far Along: 30 Weeks
Sleep: This past week, I haven't slept well at all. Just tossing and turning, vivid dreams, a bit of insomnia.. Just not a whole lot of fun!
Clothes: I've been tapping into my fall maternity clothes as the weather is cooling off!
Food Cravings: Nothing this past week... Not really hungry at all actually.
Food Aversions: Nothing sounds "nasty" but nothing really sounds great either.

Food Aversions: Nothing sounds "nasty" but nothing really sounds great either.
Symptoms: STRESS! It's starting to hit home what all needs to be done before this baby comes. It leaves me feeling really stressed... Oh, and lots of contractions! I had these a lot of with the first two pregnancies as well. Just trying to rest and drink lots of fluids.
Movement: Still rockin' and rollin' ALL day and ALL night!
What I am Looking Forward To: Getting things done in preparation from this lil ones arrival!
What I miss: As my due date approaches, I miss the thought of "normalcy". I'm already starting to worry about getting freezer meals done, Kinsley's curriculum squared away, getting stocked up on household essentials.. etc!
Best Moment of the Week: Last night when Jeremy was so sweet while I was having a meltdown... He's so understanding! For me not being a very emotional person, he's certainly handling these pregnancy hormones very well!

Not the best picture of either of them but it was early on a Saturday morning. The kids are watching their new favorite: SNOOPY! I'm going to have to see about getting them some DVDs. At the moment, You Tube works pretty well!
Little man outgrew his shoes! Called for a Mommy & Son shoe shopping trip!
Silly kiddos! They always make me smile!
Mmmmm.... Cheddar Garlic Biscuits. These were DELICIOUS!
Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bread
This was also great! It made 3 small loaves and they were all gone within 48 hours!
This little guy doesn't think he needs his high chair anymore. Last weekend, I put it away and I guess we're done with it!
Our artistic, creative, free spirited first born...
Labor Day! We went to Genghis Grill to get out of the house for a bit. I think Caden loved it more than any of us!
Made this very simple Irish Soda Bread... It looked amazing... TASTED HORRIBLE! I was very bummed.
The other night we had dinner and we walked to the park. The kids loved the entire experience and were WORN OUT afterwards.
Making music together
"Caden, excuse me??? Caden, GET DOWN! Caden, we don't climb up the slide... CADEN! CADEN!"
He finally slipped, but he held on and tried to stand back up... this kid!
Cooler weather sunset, giggles of children... just a little slice of Heaven on earth!
Mornings with Caden! Luckily a banana and some Cat in the Hat keep him happy! Such a boy... it's the simple things!
This is his "CHEEEEEEEESE" face... stinker!
There's a better smile!
Is it me or does he just look guilty? HAHA
Here's some of my favorite moments of the month so far:
- Last Sunday, we pulled in to church and Kinsley started getting all worked up. This is how the conversation went.
K: "Riley is LOST!"
J: "Oh, no! Where is she?"
K: "Call Fireman Sam!!! Daddy, Call Fireman Sam!!! Fireman Sam will find her"
J: (frantically looking for his cell phone which he realizes he left at home... he puts his hand up to the side of his face to pretend) "Fireman Sam, Riley is lost and we need to find her!"
**I'm rolling my eyes. We're in the church parking lot, we need to get inside to work nursery, Jeremy is trying to avoid a meltdown from Kinsley at all cost so he's using an IMAGINARY phone to call a Sprout CARTOON character to find Kinsley's IMAGINARY friend!**
K: "Thanks Daddy!"J: "No problem Kinsley, Fireman Sam found her"
K: "I know Daddy, she's coming to church with me"
The things you do as parents!! HAHA!
- Caden likes to show off his muscles and grunt and growl... makes me laugh!
- Kinsley and Caden enjoy holding hands and it makes my heart bubble over with joy.
- Caden has colored on the walls at least 10 times in the last week. He's so proud of himself... so we're really working on "WE ONLY WRITE ON PAPER!!!!!!!"
- Kinsley and Caden love singing Where is Thumbkin in the bath tub. Kinsley is desperately trying to teach Caden how to do all of the motions.
- I love when Caden wants to hold my hand... he chooses to and it makes me slow down from the hustle and bustle. I love that!
Hello Week 29!
Not much has changed since last week. Still achy & tired with random bursts of energy here and there.
Baby is starting to put on some weight!
How Far Along: 29 weeks
Sleep: Hit or miss still. The nightly routine usually consists of running to the bathroom at the last second (I despise getting up in the middle of the night to pee), a little bit of Arnica Salve on the ribs, hot rice sock on my right side, propped up with a few pillows.. and it's game time!
Clothes: Starting to pull out some maternity here and there. I'd say 90% of the time, I'm rockin the yoga capris and a tank top!
Food Cravings: Mostly sweets but I have had some little cravings of frozen vegetables here and there.
Food Aversions: None... I'm usually really hungry when I start making dinner but I'm too exhausted after cooking dinner to want to eat.

Food Aversions: None... I'm usually really hungry when I start making dinner but I'm too exhausted after cooking dinner to want to eat.
Symptoms: I am getting to that point where I just ache. My joints are either so loose (thanks, relaxin hormone!) that I could swing a hip out of place emptying the dryer.. OR... I can barely get off the couch because I'm so stiff! **humph** The rib pain is far too familiar from the previous two pregnancies. It's pretty miserable by the end of the day but luckily I've learned a few tips and tricks along the way!
Movement: This little one is usually very active. She/He is either up REALLY high or is way TOO low. This little one just can't make up his/her mind! HAHA
What I am Looking Forward To: I am looking forward to not hurting. I'm looking forward to daily tasks (emptying the dryer, loading dishwasher, picking up toys!) without getting stabbed in the ribs!
What I miss: I miss doing certain things with Kinsley and Caden. The other night Caden woke up and I rocked him back to sleep. I was ready to go back to bed but I physically couldn't maneuver around the crib to lay him down without him waking up. This growing belly was in the way! Even things like bath time (which K & C LOVE!) are pretty challenging. It's all worth it though!
Best Moment of the Week: Kinsley has understood the "baby in Mommy's tummy" concept since we told her. This past week, Caden has started asking about the "be be". He comes up, lifts my shirt up and gives my tummy the biggest kisses, covers my belly back up and says "night night bebe". So precious!
My favorites this week:
Alright, I'm sick and tired of dishes! It bothers the daylights out of me to have a sink full of dirty dishes and no energy to do anything about it. I know it's not "eco friendly" by any means but for the remainder of the pregnancy, we're loving the paper and plastic products in this house! If it weren't for silverware, a few dinner plates and drink ware, I wouldn't need to run the dishwasher! Meanwhile, I'm wondering if that will lower our water bill? Wishful thinking!
BEST $6.50 I've spent at Sam's in my entire life! Perfect for snacks!! My kids graze on food all day and it's not uncommon for each of them to have 4 or 5 snacks a day so this saves a lot of dishes!
These Hefty ZooPals plates are precious and cute! Plus, the kids find them to be a big treat. Somehow, they make the food on the plate that much more interesting and they usually eat all of their food. Plus, Mommy gets to throw them away after mealtime! WOOOO!

I've just come to realize that we never really have a dull moment around here. We're usually busy. I tend to ask myself "What did I even do before I had kids?".
I'm still aiming to find a balance between
1) not losing myself in the midst of motherhood
2) keeping Jeremy a priority.. after all, I was a wife before a mother (and one day the kids will be gone)
3) being the best Mom I can be!
I am surrounded by lots of friends that are just in different situations. They're always going out, joining book clubs, having dinner parties.. I don't do any of that. Mainly because J's schedule is so crazy and unpredictable right now. Also because once he gets home from a long day, we enjoy being a family together in the short window of time before the kids go to bed.
I often think back at what my Mom and Jeremy's Mom did... They devoted themselves to their families. They raised and trained their children up to become good citizens, students, spouses and now parents. I just have to keep reminding myself that this will all be worth it!! Therefore, I must find peace and joy in this season of my life!

Sweet kisses!
Kinsley "camping out" on our floor.. Sleeping bag and all!
Caden relaxing in the cart after we went shopping for a baby shower gift!
Came home to find a box from Nana!!! Always exciting!!!
Caden thought gum from Kinsley's room was hair product... therefore, he received a buzz cut after many attempts to get it out!
This kid is such a monkey! J and I were working in the garage so the kids played in the car for a good 30 minutes. They thought it was a blast! I looked over to see this! Everything is a jungle gym for a little boy!
Caden during "class time"
Kinsley's theory - Since she doesn't have to go to an actual class, then "sasswork time" doesn't require clothes! I guess panties and socks are sufficient?!?
Sorting beans! She did a pretty good job!
Caden eating school supplies - Photo #1
Caden eating school supplies - Photo #2
She refused to take a picture... Apparently she also took her shorts off prior to science experiemnt time!
She cut the celery herself, colored and stirred the water... she did most of this herself and she was very proud :)
Kinsley's special Disney princess key fell through the slats. Daddy was trying to see where it was before he climbed under the deck! Everyone helped ;-)
The kids LOOOOOOOVE the trampoline. They would spend all day on it if they were allowed to. This picture captures one of the many close calls they have! YIKES!
This kid is CONSTANTLY dirty! Reminds me of the saying "Boy = noise with dirt on it!"
Kinsley insisted she needed to make Daddy a cake in her Easy Bake oven because her "Daddy is the bestest". We were out of Easy Bake Oven mixes but luckily I found some online. This is probably the cheapest and tastiest thing that has come out of that Easy Bake!
Snapshot at K's lesson that day!
D is for Dinosaur!
Letter "D" activities!
My little helpers took great pride in gathering up dirty clothes around the house. Kinsley really liked when I let her throw them all down the stairs :)
One of Mommy's projects. This was a pallet that J cut down and added a bottom to. It got sanded and whitewashed! It's GORGEOUS and I LOVE IT!
K did this to a paint sample from Home Depot.
Guess we've been doing too many worksheets? HAHA
Another one of Mommy's projects... Loving this one!
One last project! Not sure where this one will end up but it's cute!
Zoo day with the cousins!
This kid was climbing on EVERYTHING!
He was so much more interested in the zoo than I thought he would be. It made things difficult because he wanted to run up to each exhibit like the big kids. By the time I got him out of the stroller, he ran over and climbed up, the other kids were done! HAHA
Trying to feed the Wallaby mulch..
Out of ALL the animals at the zoo, the goat puzzled Caden. Initially, he thought it was a DOG DOG but once he got face to face, he got really confused!
These two ran off quickly and quietly.. I found them trying to stick their arms through and unlatch the gate to the Wallaby.. Luckily it had a pad lock on it! Little stinkers!
We got to ride the train! SO fun!
Caden napped for a while and this was after... both kids were exhausted!
