How we wrapped up October

Well, Fall is upon us! I'm almost "current" on my blog posts so here is what we did to wrap up October..

Jeremy's birthday is Oct 22nd. We celebrated as a family on Friday night with cake, chocolate covered pretzels, some candy corn, lemon & herb chicken, sauteed carrots and sliced baked potatoes. I took K to the Dollar Tree and let her pick out a few things - mostly for her benefit (2 puzzles, an animal book, a Rubik's cube..etc). I saved up all of his bday cards that came in the mail and he opened them that night. All in all, it was a WONDERFUL birthday celebration. We decorated the house a bit and Kinsley turned off the lights and yelled "UUUURRRPRISE!" when Daddy got home. It was precious.

On his actual birthday, we got up and I made some breakfast. We lounged around the house for a bit and then Candy came over to watch the kids. She was here for a little over 6 hours! J and I went out to lunch, played some arcade games, saw Three Musketeers 3D and grabbed dinner. It was AWESOME!!
Love when my house smells like fall.. some water, orange slices, cloves, cinnamon... simmer a bit... AHHHH! So amazing!
We spent our "Mommy School" time learning about pumpkins so it wasn't complete without investigating whats INSIDE the pumpkin! She wasn't too sure about the slimy inside!
We attempted to make thumb print paint pumpkin counting cards... she got a little carried away on a few! haha
Dress up day at school for their Harvest Party. She wanted to be a ballerina like her cousin Evie and her friend from TX, Ryliegh!
I tried to tell her that ballerinas wear their hair in buns but she settled for a Rambo style headband!
Last Saturday, I heard giggling in our bedroom. J and K were back there. They built a pretty awesome fort!!! Daddy tied string around the 4 posters and used clothespins to put up sheets... have to hand it to them!
"OUT MOMMY" She told me it was a "Daddy Girl Fort"
Pretty impressive, huh?
While J and K played in the "Daddy Girl Fort", Caden and I played. I can't get enough of him!
We were bored the other night... so we used the "Boredom Buster" jar (explained below). We bobbed for apples! We recently purchased apples from a produce co-op and got a BUSHEL (40lbs) of apples. We split it with Melissa and Kendell but still have a TON of apples! So we bobbed for apples!!!
K wasn't too sure about putting her head in water so Mommy and Daddy took turns first! HAHA
CHEATER!! hehe
She was so proud of herself
Kinsley has skills!
Caught using her hands.... AGAIN!
So, I'm addicted to Pinterest.com. There are so many ideas on that website and it makes my head spin! This has to be my FAVORITE Pinterest idea that we've done. It's a "Boredom Buster" jar. Whenever we're all sitting around the house bored with nothing scheduled, we go grab something out of the jar. Some of the things in there: paint with pudding, relay races in the playroom, make play dough, go out for ice cream, write letters to friends... etc We use it several times a week and it's such a blast! (That being said, I have to watch Jeremy, he'll read one, not like like it, put it back and let K draw and draw again until she gets one that he likes!)
Lots of things to do in the "Boredom Buster" jar
Kinsley's first school pictures! No worries, we fell victim to the overpriced  pictures and bought some :)
Every year, Jon and Ashley's church host a "Hallelujah Hoedown" Halloween alternative sort of thing. Kinsley has always been too small to make it worth it. There are a TON of people, it's a bit of a hassle to park and take a hayride over to the festival, there are long lines..etc. This year, it was worth it! K had SOOOO much fun and was definitely worn out afterwards!
We met up with Jon, Ash and their kids. K wanted to jump rope with the big kids!
The princess bounce house with a slide!
Down the slide she goes! I like how this one had a soft  "bumper" on the end so the kids didn't go flying off :D
And another bounce house!
Her face is priceless.. you might need to enlarge this one to check out her face!
Tried to get a picture of us... excuse the bandaged finger. Turns out, our kitchen knives are pretty sharp :)

AND AGAIN! She loved that slide! It was just her size!

Caden was sooooo good the entire time!

Halloween day went as this:
I dropped K off at school
Took Caden to his check up with Dr. Bigham
Checked out the YMCA before Jeremy submitted the paperwork through work
(can't wait to get our cards!)
Caden was very fussy because he got 2 shots :(
Picked K up at school
Came home, did some dishes and laundry
Took K to Publix. They had a "preschool friendly" BOOO! Party. The employees were dressed up in cute outfits - kitty cats, Minnie Mouse..etc and there were games set up and they got prizes and candy
Brought groceries home and then met up for dinner @ Logans with Jeremy.
We escaped the Halloween chaos and enjoyed a wonderful family dinner together!

Now, November is upon us!
