Caden's 6 & 7 Week Update

Abbey getting to hold Caden for the first time when we surprised her at graduation!
(this picture was taken last Saturday on Caden's 6 week birthday!)

Well we started our roadtrip last Friday evening and got into TN on Saturday. We had just enough time to unpack, re-dress, and head out for the graduation festivities! When Jeremy and I lived in TN, we were extremely involved with our youth group. Some of the kids that we mentored and love dearly graduated this year and we just couldn't miss out!

Here's what my lil chubby monkey is up to these days...
  • As of last Saturday, he weighs about 9lbs 8oz - which meant that he gained 3lbs in 6 weeks!
  • He's obviously a GREAT eater! He still eats every 2 hrs during the day and his stretches range from 4-6 hrs at night.
  • He recently started "oooooo"ing. It seemed a bit involuntary at first but he's starting to find his voice! SO CUTE!
  • He's also started smiling which melts my heart.
  • He scoots when he's laying down. He'll scoot 2 feet in no time... so he's not left unattended on a bed or couch!
  • He rolls onto his side and arches his back.. if the angle is just right, he'll roll onto his belly.
  • During tummy time, he is really starting to hold his head up and look around.
  • He's starting to focus on objects and occasionally gets crossed eyed!
  • He's just now transitioning out of newborn diapers and into size 1s.
  • We've had multiple blow out diapers in the last 2 weeks.
  • At 7 weeks old, he's already been on a road trip and been to Texas, Arkansas & Tennessee. Dearest Caden, this family loves to travel so buckle up (literally) and enjoy the ride!
  • He did exceptionally well on the road trip here.
  • He's still a really good baby and only fusses when he's hungry, poopy or gassy. Once the need is met, he calms right down.
  • He especially loves to be held chest to chest, paci in his mouth and his bottom patted. However, when he's tired, if you lay him down, he'll go to sleep on his own.
  • He's outgrown his newborn clothes and is in 0-3 month clothes now.
